DX2E Brazilian Guitar

The back and sides of all Martin X-Series models are made of HPL – high pressure laminate. This sustainable, man-made material, consisting of multiple layers of special paper, bonded with resin under high pressure has excellent sonic characteristics and is extremely strong. This, along with the low cost, makes HPL the perfect material for Martin’s entry level models, which is why Martin started using it as early as in the nineties.
Now, for 2024, the people at Martin gave the X-Series a full make-over! The most spectacular specimens of wood, from Martins stock have been expertly photographed for the new prints on these guitars. If the grain on your guitar is going to be a print, it might as well be the most beautiful print possible.
Furthermore, all X-Series models that are factory equipped with a pickup system now come with the Martin E-1 System.
Another change for all new X-series models is improved playability. The fingerboard is thinner with a gently beveled comfort edge and refined string spacing and the bridge contour was modernized for a smooth and comfortable playing experience.

Brazilian rosewood is widely regarded as the ultimate in tonewoods for guitars. Not only does the wood of Dalbergia Nigra have extraordinary sonic characteristics, it is also very popular for its exceptionally beautiful grain.
While the tone of Brazilian rosewood cannot be imitated, Martin is capable of very convincingly reproducing its looks.
So, the D-X2E now offer back and sides of HPL with spectacular Brazilian rosewood visuals, paired with a solid spruce top for a lively, dynamic tone. Neck, fingerboard and bridge are crafted of selected hardwoods.
This model is delivered with Martin’s E-1 System as well.
